![]() If they do not run, or are otherwise buggy on your <6 year old distro, open an issue in the tracker.Īdditionally, you can try the MyPaint-v2.0.1-alt.AppImage if the smaller ones do not run on your system. Debian sid (for the day of the release). The smaller AppImage bundles have been confirmed to run on clean installs of the following systems: Typos in documentation fixed (not user-facing typos).AppImages now handle external editing better (no longer overrides the host environment for the launched programs).(installed size by ~50%, bundle size by ~70% for installers) Size of Windows install bundle significantly reduced.Windows build now uses openmp, which should improve performance on most systems.Svg icon sizes reduced across the board.Svg icons fixed - some were previously considered invalid by librsvg >= 2.48.A number of P圓 compatibility issues were fixed.OARS rating added to appdata (relevant for app-distribution software, but not much else).libmypaint translations are now bound, making them work properly in the appimages.Variables in l11n strings validated on build (xml tags are not validated yet, however).Dependency on intltool removed (still required for libmypaint).Translated strings added/updated for several languages.Rounding error when saving files in 2.x mode fixed.Undo/Redo stack default size increased to 40.Undo/Redo stack size made configurable and more efficient.HSV/HCY brush dynamics in 2.x mode fixed. This is not something Windows users or Appimage users have to worry about. V2.0.1 requires libmypaint v1.6.0 or higher to run. The 1.x mode has not been affected by this. Big thanks to gwojcik for noticing and fixing this. A color conversion function in the v2.0.0 release has an error that can (and usually will) cause image degradation over multiple save/load cycles. ❗ Importantįor those who primarily use the 2.x mode (the default mode), this is an important upgrade. Noce work on ruining a good thing. This is a bugfix release for v2.0.0. It's a way to garner more money from artists, professional or otherwise. You can get those features you just now have to pay a subscription for them, which is ridiculous. Everything I loved about the program? Gone. The options to change the layer qualities? Gone. They took away all of the things I loved. Their free option is the worst thing I've ever seen. ![]() That one time purchase was all for nothing, because they had changed it and made it a subscription. When i redownloaded it, the program was awful and I soon realized why. However, I took a break from artwork and when I came back to the app it told me to delete and reinstall. This was my favorite program I'd used and I loved working with this program and improving my art. In comic sans though.įirst of all, I bought this app I think over two years ago and it was a one time 60 dollar purchase. If you have any idea how this can be resolved, I have three more stars with your name on it. I’m running High Sierra on a mid-2012 i5 PC, 4gb of RAM and an SSD, and I’m using a Cintiq for drawing. I’m a bit of a luddite, but my other design suite and even video editing software run perfectly fine and I’d imagine they’d be more taxing on memory. I’ve even done a clean install of High Sierra and the problem persists. I’ve followed all the suggestions in the fora - resetting to factory default, turning off enable rotate, brush stamp, etc, restoring, reinstalling and trying old versions of the Cintiq software - no dice. The brushes lag, particularly the larger ones. This version (8.6.1) seems to have dropped the ball on responsiveness and the knock-on is a pretty frustrasting experience throughout. I’m a storyboard artist and the previous releases have all been perfect for what I do - fast and responsive. I’ve used them in studio and home environments and I’ve yet to find another program that matches Sketchbook’s usability, elegance and friendly feel. I’ve been a big fan of the previous releases since the beginning.
